Our executive team keeps growing!
We’re excited to share that Traci Husslein, who leads our Capital Markets and Lock Desk teams, has been promoted to SVP – Capital Markets. With this promotion, she also joined our executive team.
Traci has nearly 30 years of experience in the mortgage industry. She joined Waterstone Mortgage as VP – Capital Markets in November 2014 and made an immediate impact by establishing our Capital Markets department.
At the time, our hedging function was vendor-managed, and Traci was instrumental in transitioning it to an in-house process. This significant accomplishment established a tie between the hedging function and buy pricing. Ultimately, this led to improved bottom line results (eliminating losses) and improved rate pricing — both of which continue to this day.
Traci has worked tirelessly to facilitate employee training, process improvement, and new vendor relationships across the organization. Her deep understanding of mortgage origination allows her to contribute and be a source of guidance at all levels of the organization.
Getting to Know Traci
Her Professional Background
Prior to joining Waterstone Mortgage, Traci had 17 years of experience in mortgage lending, working at Guaranty Bank/Shelter Mortgage. She previously oversaw Capital Markets teams that handled retail, wholesale, and home equity wholesale business lines, and she had experience in process engineering.
Traci’s finance background has also proven a valuable resource to the Waterstone Mortgage Accounting department, and her reporting and process skills provide invaluable insights to top-line market performance and bottom-line results.
In 2024, Traci began working directly with the Waterstone Mortgage executives.

The Fun Stuff
So, what does Traci like the most about working in the mortgage lending industry?
“I enjoy the challenge of navigating through the various market conditions we’ve experienced in the industry,” Traci says. “Through it all, I’ve appreciated working with talented individuals who have helped to guide the changes needed to ensure we can continue to fulfill the dream of homeownership.”
Outside of work, Traci loves spending time with her husband and two daughters; they enjoy attending concerts — both locally and across the country. She likes relaxing with her family, including her two rescue dogs, at their camper during the summer months.
Traci is also a homeowner! She enjoys the freedom to decorate her home (especially during the holidays), customizing her house to her preferences, and making it a true “home” with her family.
Traci holds an Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation from MBA Education's School of Mortgage Banking. She is an avid supporter of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation and volunteers for several other charities in her area.
